The archive allows you to Save, Restore, Delete and Copy the show file on the Local Hard Drive (Local Archive) or to a USB removable storage device (USB Archive).
To navigate to the Archive page:
- If you haven’t already, exit Motion back to the main menu.
- Tap the
Archive
button.
Creating a Local Archive
To create a Local Archive, you will use the top half of the screen labeled “Local Archives”.
Any existing archives of the show will be shown in the list. Each entry shows the Name, the date and time of the archive, and the file path.
To create a new archive entry:
- Enter a descriptive name for the archive entry in the Name text box.
- If you make a mistake, tap
Clear
to clear the text box. - Tap
Archive to Local
to create an archive entry.
Restoring from the Local Archive
To restore from the local archive:
- Locate the archive entry you want to restore using the name and date/time.
- Tap that archive entry.
- The archive entry will display with a green border around it to show it has been selected.
- Tap
Restore
to restore that archive. - The software will automatically exit to ensure that the archive is correctly restored.
- Relaunch the Motion software from the windows desktop.
When you restore an archive entry, it completely overwrites the existing show file. Make sure you have an archive entry for the current state of the desk if you need to restore to this again later.
Deleting a Local Archive
To delete an archive entry:
- Locate the archive entry you want to restore using the name and date/time.
- Tap that archive entry.
- The archive entry will display with a green border around it to show it has been selected.
- Tap
Delete
to delete that archive entry.
Once deleted, archive entries cannot be recovered.
Creating a USB Archive
To create a USB Archive, you will use the top half of the screen labeled “USB Archives”.
Attaching a Removable USB Storage Device:
- Connect your Removable USB Storage Device (consult your desk manual for the connection port location).
- Motion will automatically detect the USB Storage Device and show available archives in the list. Each entry shows the Name, the date and time of the archive, and the file path.
- If required, you can force a detection of USB Storage Devices by tapping the
Detect
button.
USB Storage Devices should be formatted to a file system that is readable and writable on Windows, such as FAT32 or NTFS.
To create a new archive entry:
- Enter a descriptive name for the archive entry in the Name text box.

Archive to USB
to create an archive entry.
