The Layout can be customised in a few different ways, to make it more suited to your particular application.
You might want to adjust the Layout so that axis blocks are laid out in a similar arrangement to how they are in the real world, to make them quicker and easier to identify. You might want to group similar axes or axis that need to work together, next to each other on the screen.
Adding and removing elements is done from the “Layouts” panel in the side bar.
To open the layouts panel:
- If you cannot see the layout controls, tap the disclosure triangle for the “Layouts” panel to reveal them.
To prevent inadvertent movement, dragging is disabled when you first open the software. To make changes to the layout you will need to enable dragging first.
To enable dragging:
- Tap the
More
icon in the bottom left of the screen, indicated by the three dots. - Tap “Enable Dragging” in the menu.
- You can now use the trackball, mouse or touchscreen to drag elements around the screen.
- When you have finished arranging the layout, return this this menu and tap “Disable Dragging” to prevent any accidental changes.
Axis Blocks
To add an axis block to the layout:
- Use the dropdown list of axis under the heading “All Axis”.
- Select the axis you want to add to the layout.
- Tap
Add
to add an axis block for that axis to the layout. - Once the axis block has been added to the layout, it will display as a “Loaded Axis” in the Layouts panel.
- Enable dragging to move the axis block around the layout.
To remove an axis block from the layout:
- Tap on the axis you want to remove under the “Loaded Axis” heading.
- When you have tapped on an axis it will highlight in red to show that it has been selected.
- Tap
Delete
to remove the axis from the layout.
IO
Any IO is available for displaying as part of the layout.
To add an IO block to the layout:
- Use the dropdown list of available IO under the heading “All IO”.
- Select the piece of IO you want to add to the layout.
- Tap
Add
to add an IO block for that axis to the layout. - Once the IO block has been added to the layout, it will display as a “Loaded IO” in the Layouts panel.
- Enable dragging to move the IO block around the layout.
To remove an IO block from the layout:
- Tap on the piece of IO you want to remove under the “Loaded IO” heading.
- When you have tapped on a piece of IO, it will highlight in red to show that it has been selected.
- Tap
Delete
to remove the IO block from the layout.
Cue Notes
You can choose whether to display cue notes as part of your layout. (See “Cue Notes” for more information about creating cue notes.
To display cue notes:
- Tick the “Cue Notes” check box in the “Layouts” panel.
- The cue notes will display on the layout.
- Enable dragging to move the cue notes around the layout.
To hide cue notes:
- Un-tick the “Cue Notes” check box in the “Layouts” panel.
- The cue notes will now be hidden.
Add All
You can use the “Add All” feature to add every axis as an axis block and every piece of IO to the layout.
To add all:
- Tap
Add All
- All Axis Blocks and IO blocks will be added on top of each other in the left hand corner of the layout.
- Enable dragging to adjust the layout to suit your needs.
- When you’re done remember to disable dragging to prevent any accidental changes.
Zoom Settings (Layout Size)
You can use the zoom settings to zoom in and out of the entire layout, making everything on the layout bigger or smaller. There is a separate size setting for Cue Notes.
To adjust the zoom settings for the entire layout:
- Tap the
More
icon in the bottom left of the screen, indicated by the three dots. - Tap
Zoom +
orZoom -
to zoom in and out on the entire layout.
To adjust the size settings for cue notes:
- Tap the
More
icon in the bottom left of the screen, indicated by the three dots. - Tap
Notes +
orNotes -
to make the cue notes larger or smaller.
